Revised plans for services in Holy Trinity

Following the easing of the recent lockdown measures, churches are now able to re-open for public worship, though under strict guidelines. Cassa, the churchwardens and PCC have been working out ‘the next step’ for Holy Trinity, while bearing in mind the principles of physical distancing, hygiene and safety that guided our re-opening for private prayer a few Saturdays ago.

We will begin on Sunday 19 July at 5pm with a Service of the Word.   This won't be a communion service but we hope it will be especially welcome for those who haven’t had access to online services and would like to attend worship in the company of others. There are only a limited number of spaces so you will need to book. Contact Jane Spoerry (spoerry.jane@gmail.com or 677328)

Please bear in mind the following points when considering attending this service:

Church of England guidelines state that: “Certain groups of people may be at increased risk of severe disease from COVID-19, including people who are aged 70 or older, regardless of medical conditions. Individuals who fall within this group are advised to stay at home as much as possible and, if they do go out, to take particular care to minimise contact with others outside of their household. From Monday 6 July, those shielding individuals may choose to gather in groups of up to 6 people outdoors and form a support bubble with another household, they will therefore still be advised not to attend places of worship indoors.’”

We regret the toilet will not be open. You will need to use the hand sanitiser as you arrive and leave the church. You will be asked to follow the one-way arrows and sit in a designated seat. The service will be on screen in the church; it will last about 30 minutes; but it will not be streamed – so you won’t be able to watch it online via Facebook. Wearing facemasks is optional. The church will be cleaned before the service takes place. Please continue to make your donations through the various ‘giving’ schemes. Cash donations can be placed in the green donations box.

Holy Trinity will continue to be open for private prayer on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. We are very grateful to volunteers from our wonderful cleaning team who have kindly agreed to clean the church after it has been used. If you have any questions, please speak to one of our churchwardens -Jane or Janine. Online Sunday 10am morning services will also continue.  For the foreseeable future, we will still be offering alternative forms of prayer and worship that don’t involve people congregating together in church - thanks to the availability of Facebook and Zoom.
