Holy Trinity Choir

Welcome to Holy Trinity Church Choir!

Holy Trinity is extremely pleased to introduce their Church Choir, led by Melissa Alder, a local from Seer Green. Melissa first started singing in Holy Trinity Church Choir as a young girl, and went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music. She now works full-time at the Royal Opera House in London. Upon moving back to Seer Green with her young family, she felt passionately that reinstating the choir would add huge value to Holy Trinity. We are pleased that she followed her passions!

Holy Trinity’s choir currently has 26 members, and sings twice a month at the 10am Holy Communion services, as well as special services throughout the year. They sing a variety of music styles. You do not need to have sung before to join – they welcome people of all ages and all abilities. The choir practices on Sundays after the 10am service.

Picture of Programme for fundraising concert, January 2013On Saturday 19th January, Melissa put on a wonderful fundraising concert supported by Holy Trinity choir to raise funds for much-needed maintenance to the church. The event was extremely well-attended and Melissa's beautiful soprano voice rang throughout the church. The highlight was perhaps her duet of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's "Pie Jesu", sung with Tom, her nephew. The audience also very much enjoyed hearing the preface to Frederick Forsyth's upcoming novel, read by Frederick himself, which is due to be published in June or July this year. We look forward to that! Here are some quotes from those who attended Saturdays' concert, and do look out for March's Parish Magazine for a full write-up of the concert!

"An amazing evening and so inspiring, with an amazing sense of community spirit. Absolutely loved it and would love another evening like it." -  Libby

"Fun!" - Tom

"Wow, what an incredible voice Melissa has, it was absolutely beautiful." - Lucy

"At the end, I was moved to buy Melissa's demo CD, which is delightful - when are we to get a full length CD?" - Monica

"What a fantastic night! Well done to Katie and everyone else involved. I can't imagine how much hard work it must have been" - Marion

"What a deeply moving experience it was to hear Melissa and all the performers giving their talent and their hard-pressed time to create this extraordinary concert and raise funds for our beautiful Church building. I'm still holding on tight to the impression of the incredible skill, soaring sound and heartfelt devotion shown by the performers to channel all these gifts to the glory of God. The concert was a real milestone in my journey of faith and I shouldn't wonder that of a few others too." - Alison

Our thanks also go out to Katie, Cathy and Sally and the rest of the team for organising the evening which raised an outstanding £3,500 which will be put towards some much-needed church building maintenance. Well done all!
