Help for Heroes

Help for Heroes

Their mission is to deliver an enduring national network of support for our wounded and their families. Their aim is to inspire and enable those who have made sacrifices on our behalf to achieve their full potential.

The war in Afghanistan may be over, but for those who have suffered life-changing injuries, their battles are just beginning. Help for Heroes will not let them fight these battles alone.

Individual support is a huge part  of what they do at Help for Heroes (H4H). Every decision they make is driven by listening to our heroes and their need.

Their Quick Reaction Fund (QRF) helps by giving swift financial support to those with life-changing injuries, life-changing illnesses and their families. For example, funds to purchase equipment to make a home more accessible or a grant to support travel costs for a family needing to spend time by their loved ones bedside. The QRF can essentially be used for anything that alleviates the distress caused by injury or illness.

The QRF is delivered directly by H4H, or administered for them through the Services' own charities and aims to provide support within 72 hours in urgent cases.

"For the first time in a long while, I have been able to go outdoors and have fun with my family. I have been able to exercise and work up a sweat, which is something I have missed so much. My appreciation for this is beyond my ability to describe. I simply don't have the words to really articulate what this gift means to me, so I will just say thank you so much from us all. I feel like I have been released from confinement. My daughter is overjoyed that she can now cycle with her daddy."

For anyone who is or was a member of the Armed Forces and has been wounded, injured or is sick as a result of serving the our country then the Quick Reaction Fund can help both the individual and their family.

The Help for Heroes Band of Brothers (B0B) offers life-long support and opportunities to those suffering from life-changing injury or illness. The Help for Heroes Band of Sisters (BoS) provides support, recognition and fellowship to those who care for our heroes.

Members of the BoB and BoS receive the same financial and welfare support that Help for Heroes offers through the Quick Reaction Fund, but in addition have opportunities to take up offers donated to by a very supportive public. These include VIP opportunities, days out, tickets to events, holidays, discounts, employment opportunities and work experience.

Members' contact details are kept private, there is no commitment and it is all free!
